V2X safety at risk?

Following the FCC vote to give away over half the 5.9GHz connected vehicle safety band to unlicensed wi-fi - and phase out DSRC for good - there are serious concerns about the ongoing reliability of V2X (vehicle-to-everything) communication in the USA.
